Tutor Terms and Conditions
Definitions
- Student
- The person to be taught by the Tutor.
- Client
- The person or persons for which the Tutor agrees to teach. This will be the Student if the Student is over 18 years of age, or the parent or guardian of the Student if the Student is under 18 years of age.
- Tutor
- The intended reader of this document. The person wishing to teach Students supplied by Brighton Home Tutors.
Purpose
This document forms the Tutor's Terms of Business with Brighton Home Tutors. It must be read and agreed to by any Tutor wishing to teach Students supplied by Brighton Home Tutors.
Fees
Fees are agreed before a tutorial begins. They are usually based on a set of standard rates for the subject and level of tuition required.
The cost of tuition for the Client must not be discussed between Tutor and Client. It is not the Tutor's responsibility to arrange pricing for the Client.
Obligations
The Tutor must provide certain documents to prove their eligibility to work in the UK and suitability for teaching. Criminal Records Bureau disclosures are required for Tutors intending to teach Students under the age of 16.
Brighton Home Tutors is under no obligation to provide teaching assignments to the Tutor. Teaching assignments will be provided at the sole discretion of Brighton Home Tutors.
The Tutor is under no obligation to accept teaching assignments offered. Once teaching assignments are accepted, the Tutor is deemed to have entered into an agreement with Brighton Home Tutors to provide teaching for an agreed period or periods to the Student, subject to the continued satisfaction of the Client.
Brighton Home Tutors will provide contact details of the Client once the Tutor has accepted the teaching assignment and provided the necessary documents.
Attendance
The Tutor must visit the Client's home or agreed place of tuition only when it has been agreed that they do so.
The Tutor must not visit the Client's home or agreed place of tuition without prior permission from Brighton Home Tutors.
